Sam x Betty Puppies: The Next Training Phase Begins

The Sam x Betty puppies are now almost 10 weeks old, and with that comes the next important step in their development.

At this age, the puppies are beginning to move away from momma and into a little more independence. No more relying on momma for everything. Now the learning starts to look a bit different. Crate training begins, house manners become more important, and each puppy starts learning how to settle on their own.

Depending on the size of the litter, we often set the puppy kennels up right in our living room. With these three Springer puppies, they have been pretty easy to maintain in the house, which gives us a great opportunity to work with them in a calm, everyday environment.

Over the next few days and weeks, they will be learning to run around outside together, explore, play, and most importantly, learn that potty time happens outside. They will also begin learning to be crated by themselves, which is a big step for young puppies.

These may seem like small lessons, but they are the beginning of structure, routine, and confidence. At Craney Hill, we believe puppy development starts early, and these little everyday lessons help build the foundation for the dogs they will become.

Big learning days ahead for the Sam x Betty puppies.

It may look like simple puppy life from the outside, but these small daily lessons are where the foundation begins. Confidence, independence, routine, and good manners are built one day at a time.
